Above, from left to right: 2016, 2017, and 2018 editions of the Reed College Creative Review (RCCR). I designed the folio, cover, and did all layout.RCCR 2016 features gold embossment that imitates a circuit board, with corresponding folio designs. RCCR 2017 has a cut-out cover with correspondingly fragmented folio design. RCCR 2018 has a fold-out cover with a quote from St. Augustine’s Confessions calling for someone to “take up and read,” printed in iridescent ink. Calligraphy is a central theme in the layout design. Prior to attending Reed College, I did Layout and cover/folio design at Sierra Canyon High School in Los Angeles, CA for three years. I was Publication Editor from 2013-2015 and won two Columbia Press Gold Crown awards, and was second-place for the National Scholastic Press’s Pacemaker Awards twice. Below: selections from Sierra Canyon Rambler editions.

For this edition, the book was divided by swatches; the front cover was completely black and the pages each had a swatch so flipping through the edition showed off the rainbow. For the full .pdf of the Sierra Canyon Rambler 2015 edition, click here.
